MarketCapLens operates MarketCapLens. The ranking, the calculators, and the Learn guides are first-party editorial work under that name. This page does not list a personal biography or professional credentials, because none are published for this site.

Who checks the numbers

MarketCapLens operates this site. Guides are published under that organizational byline. There is no separate named reviewer with professional credentials listed here.

Each calculator states its formula in words and ships a worked example. Those examples are checked again when the formula changes. Learn articles are edited in the same pass so the guide, the FAQ, and the tool stay on one set of numbers. That is an editorial process, not a license, a charter, or investment advice. Corrections go through the contact page.

What this site is

MarketCapLens is an independent research site that ranks U.S.-listed public companies by market capitalization. Ranking figures on the homepage, sector pages, and company pages all come from the same daily snapshot. Company historical charts can use a different FMP series and can disagree with that ranking figure; see How the ranking works.

It is a size ranking, not a buy list. Market cap measures how large a company is, not whether it is a good investment. For the definitions behind the ranking, start with what market capitalization is.

Which companies are included

The universe is U.S.-listed common equity on NASDAQ, NYSE, or NYSE American, above a minimum market-cap floor (currently $1 billion). That floor is shown on the homepage next to the company count. ETFs, funds, preferred shares, equity units, and warrants are excluded so the list stays a ranking of operating companies.

When a company has more than one share class, those classes are combined so the company appears once, at its full size. Companies listed only outside the United States (for example Samsung or Tencent on their home exchanges) are out of scope today.

Data, methodology, and updates

Prices, share counts, and fundamentals come from Financial Modeling Prep and are normalized into one snapshot. The ranking is rebuilt from that snapshot several times each trading day. Every page shows an “as of” date. Prices can lag live quotes by minutes to hours.
