What we collect
MarketCapLens does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. Any preferences you set (such as light/dark theme) are stored locally in your browser and never sent to us. We do use analytics tools, described below, to understand aggregate traffic and site performance — we do not build individual visitor profiles or use analytics for advertising.
Analytics
Every page load uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which report aggregate page-view counts and performance metrics (like load times) to our hosting provider. These tools are cookie-free and do not use persistent identifiers to track you across visits or other websites.
This deployment also loads Google Analytics (GA4) to measure traffic and how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers and can share data with Google under Google’s own privacy policy. We use it only for aggregate analytics — not for advertising, and not to build profiles of individual visitors.
Hosting & logs
The Service is served through a third-party cloud hosting provider. Like most web hosts, it may process standard request metadata to serve traffic, prevent abuse, and keep the Service reliable. This typically includes:
- IP address
- Browser type and user agent
- Operating system
- Referring URL
- Pages requested and timestamps
We do not use this metadata to identify you, and it is handled under the hosting provider’s own privacy practices.
How we use information
The limited data described above is used only to:
- Deliver and operate the Service
- Maintain security and prevent abuse or fraud
- Diagnose technical issues and keep the Service reliable
- Understand aggregate traffic and site performance (analytics, described above)
We do not sell your data, serve advertising, or use it to build ad-targeting profiles.
Third-party data
Company logos and market data are retrieved from Financial Modeling Prep. Visiting an external link (for example, a company’s website) is subject to that site’s privacy policy.
Cookies
MarketCapLens does not use advertising cookies, and we don’t set any cookies ourselves. Your theme preference is kept in browser local storage, not in a cookie. Google Analytics, described above, may set its own cookies to distinguish visitors for analytics purposes.
Your choices
You stay in control of the little data involved:
- Clear your browser’s local storage to remove saved preferences at any time.
- Use your browser’s settings to block or clear cookies for this site.
- Most browsers let you block third-party scripts or use tracking-protection features, which will also block the analytics described above.
- Because we don’t use advertising, there is nothing to opt out of for ad targeting.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Changes are effective as soon as they are posted.
